New oil leak found in sunken U.S. oil rig

A new oil leak was found in a sunken oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico late Wednesday, and the oil spill could hit the U.S. state of Louisiana as early as Thursday.

The newly-discovered leak means that 5,000 barrels of oil a day are spilling from the rig into the Gulf of Mexico, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is requesting additional resources from the federal government as the oil spill could reach the state's coast earlier than previously expected.

Troubled by power cuts, Indians go green with solar energy

As rising mercury began scorching India this month, frequent electricity cuts are making the situation worse.

To find a solution to the ever-present problem, Suraj Berwal, a resident of Gurgaon in India's northern Haryana state, is on a mission to explore alternate energy resources.

3rd World Environmental Conference to continue voice from Copenhagen

The International Energy Conservation Environmental Protection Association will host the Third World Environmental Conference in Beijing on July 28 to 30, the organization announced Thursday at a press conference.
