The Philippine tourism industry remains buoyant despite the travel warnings issues by other countries.
Data from the Bureau of Immigration showed that tourist arrivals in the Philippines jumped by 17 percent to 2.56 million as of Nov. 8 over the same period last year.
"Despite the travel advisories, I can tell you the numbers are up," Tourism Secretary Alberto Lim said Friday.
Last month, the United States, Britain, Australia, France, Canada, and New Zealand warned their citizens against traveling in the Philippines because of possible terror attacks in Manila, its capital city.
